The Lloydminster Museum + Archives (LMA) is a hub for community art, culture, and history. The LMA hosts specialized programs for all ages.
We love it when we can bring creative people together! Whether you crochet, weave, knit, spin, dye, embroider, or other, we welcome you to bring your current project to the new art studio to socialize with likeminded individuals, ask questions, and get inspired! We will also have a loom weaving demonstration, a small project available to try and supplies out to borrow.
Have you ever dreamed of living self-sufficiently? Join us in our historic Log Cabin to learn the art of beeswax candle making. Participants will create dip candles to make your home smell beautiful. As a bonus, you will be making cloth beeswax wraps to preserve or store your food at home.
Two experienced potters will teach you the basic skills and techniques to hand build and throw on the pottery wheel. You will complete numerous decorative and functional pieces using your own creativity and personal style. This is not a project-based class; rather you will be given the skills and tools to create freely.
Learn about the interesting, unusual and memorable stories and characters that have made Lloydminster what it is today. You will be guided by dedicated staff and volunteers from the Lloydminster Museum + Archives through the Lloydminster Cemetery. Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes and come prepared for chilly weather.

Alex Kusturok is an energetic performer and educator who specializes in Metis, Quebecois, and Cape Breton fiddle styles. He is offering beginner and intermediate workshops to all ages. Students must bring their own fiddle/violin.

Join Misty Whitstone to create a pair of beautiful moccasins using traditional techniques. All materials are included in the registration fee. No experience necessary.
Deepen your artistic expression through journaling your experience via mixed media and sketchbooks. Expand your illustration skills by experimenting with different mediums and techniques, including paper collage, pen and ink, pencil drawing and watercolor painting. At the end of this program, every participant will select their best works to co-author a collaborative artist book that will go on display at the Lloydminster Public Library.

Participants will learn how to create a beautiful stained-glass piece to decorate their home.

Capture the beauty and vibrance of wildlife in painting. You will gain strong acrylic foundations and apply them to paint realistic wildlife and their natural surroundings. No experience necessary, only your love for nature and art.
Join Maxx, a local artist with the “Slay the Night Lloydminster” Drag performance group. This delightful Drag King has been performing his “Happy Maxxidents” paint along locally for the last 2 years. We could not be happier to have him in our art studio to inspire creativity and represent the LGBTQ2+ community! You will be creating an artwork while paintig along with Maxx and enjoying a glass or two of wine. Please ensure you have a designated driver or arrange transportation. No experience necessary and all supplies and wine is included in the registration fee.
Learn the traditional practice of quillwork in this class led by Takota Stonechild. Rawhide and dyed porcupine quills are utilized in this art form. No prior experience is required to take this class.
In this three-day camp, participants will learn the basic skills and techniques of pottery hand building and wheel-throwing. With the guidance of two experienced potters, participants will create unique pottery pieces using their own creativity and imagination. An 11-pound bag of clay is included in the registration fee.
